AODocs Announces Launch of Release 58

Release 58 offers users and administrators new capabilities aimed at improving end user efficiency.

Let’s have a look at some of the highlights, coming to you this month!

Enjoy an enhanced search tool and cleaner views (beta)

Our continues approach is to rebuild AODocs Views from the ground up, including extensive visual enhancements and additional features. With this release, we are one step closer to completing this task.

Release 58 still offers new Views in the beta version. In using this beta version, we continue to collect your feedback, informing us on how we can continue to improve.

Thanks to your feedback, the R58 beta version brings you the ability to:

  • create new documents from the View
  • open documents in edit mode
  • delete documents individually or in bulk
  • edit document permissions
  • edit specific attachment permissions
  • rename documents
  • check-out and check-in documents and discard drafts
  • notify users by email
  • force workflow transitions (for library administrators)

This revamp is based on your feedback and is intended to improve your daily experience. To shape future enhancements, we’d love to hear even more from you via this quick (and anonymous) survey.

More easily compare two versions of a Word document

In this release, we improved the ability to compare two versions of a Word attachment. As well as previewing the differences, you can save the comparison file as an attachment in a new version of your AODocs document to make it your new working copy. In addition, you can save this comparison file as a new PDF attachment to help keep track of the document's change history.

Be sure to contact your account manager or email us at sales@aodocs.com to discuss to your licensing options.

What's Next?

There is much more upcoming for AODocs.

The scope of features for the new Views continues to expand! We’re continuing our work on integrating features from the standard version and adding new features.

We will also soon introduce Tables sections that will let you edit table metadata in documents.

A Cause for Celebration

Beyond this releaseJanuary will mark both the 10th anniversary of AODocs and a turning point in AODocs’ history as we will be releasing a new product: AODocs Content Services, a full-fledged content services platform working for both Google Workspace and Microsoft 365 users. This new product will open new horizons for our current customers and prospects, whether they are on Google Workspace, on Microsoft or on a hybrid environment. AODocs will no longer be just part of your collaboration stack, this new product is a true cloud and pure SaaS alternative to your outdated document management solutions like Opentext ContentServer, IBM FileNet, Documentum, etc. Stay tuned for more news on this front!
