Welcome to the Real Cloud: introducing AODocs Content Services

January 2022 will be remembered as an important turning point in AODocs’ 10 years of history: it marks the release of our new product, AODocs Content Services, bringing our cloud native, true SaaS, full-fledged Content Services Platform (CSP) to everyone!

After 10 years of focusing on Google Workspace customers, all organizations can now experience the power of AODocs. Whether you are on Microsoft, Google Workspace, or in a hybrid environment – we got you covered!

With AODocs, our clients leverage the full power of the cloud to control their content, automate their business critical processes, and meet compliance requirements. More than 500 organizations worldwide, ranging from small businesses and local governments to Fortune 500 companies, trust AODocs to manage their contracts, invoices, standard operating procedures, and other sensitive documents. With AODocs Content Services, we are excited to offer our innovative CSP technology and experience to the entire market.

A pioneer in Cloud Transformation, against #FakeCloud

All the leading players in the content services market run on pre-2000 architectures. Their cloud offerings consist of letting their customers “lift and shift” documents from on-premise servers to cloud virtual machines (#FakeCloud). As a result, these vendors are unable to help their customers achieve a true business transformation.

McKinsey estimates that Fortune 500 companies can create at least $1 trillion of value by 2030 by adopting cloud technologies to actually transform the way their businesses are run. But using cloud virtual machines to run the same software that was designed to be deployed on premises won't improve your company's core business in any way. That’s only kicking the can down the road. Moving to the cloud is now about innovation and about addressing your business problems in ways that were not possible before – by getting rid of the technical constraints that were imposed by legacy architectures

Only modern content services platforms that have been architected from the ground up for the public cloud are able to truly leverage the power, agility, scalability, and cost efficiencies of the cloud to manage and process content.

A cloud-native content services platform to grow your business

When it comes to business requirements, the only constant is change. Whether it's new regulations, new business opportunities, new competitors, you name it. In this environment, agility is key and organizations need to rapidly build (and evolve) solutions to automate their business processes and get the most out of their information.

AODocs customers already benefit from the flexibility that comes with a cloud-native and low-code content platform: O8t, one of our customers in the life sciences industry, started deploying the AODocs quality management solution in April and after just one month, the company was already leveraging the platform to manage internal audits and accelerate the submission of their FDA documents in July.

Another customer, a pet food manufacturer, uses AODocs to automate the creation of their shipment documentation such as quality control information, paperwork for customs, proforma invoice, etc. This process involves pulling data from multiple systems (in particular, SAP), intelligent data extraction with machine learning, country-specific document generation rules for customs paperwork and an e-signature process. And yet it was implemented by our professional services team in just a few weeks.

These are just a few examples of projects that would have taken months, if not years, to implement with legacy enterprise content management (ECM) systems. AODocs "true cloud" architecture allows our clients to overcome “traditional” IT limitations, with an infrastructure that automatically adapts its resources to usage. Our open REST API makes it easy to integrate with other systems, opening to innovative capabilities thanks to best-in-class machine learning services. Last but not least, business users can easily build and adapt their business applications with our point and click configuration.

Unlike AODocs, most of the leading players in the content services market have been designed long before the modern cloud architectures were invented, and their products are unable to deliver these benefits. We encourage you to read the Gartner Magic Quadrant on Content Services Platforms and hear about Gartner’s perspective on this topic.

Convinced, but afraid to take the leap? The "safer" option is not the one you think

The cost and risks of a migration shouldn't be an excuse to delay your cloud transformation. Doing a “lift and shift” migration from your antiquated ECM system to a cloud-based virtual machine might appear as a “safer” option, but it’s an illusion. It requires costly version upgrades and data migration projects, and will cost you as much (if not more) than a migration to a true cloud platform. And when your costly “lift and shift” project is done, you are still suffering from the limitations of your legacy system.

One of our largest customers moved more than 80 million documents from Documentum and iManage to AODocs in just a few months, without any service interruption. Thanks to AODocs' serverless architecture, thousands of users were able to use AODocs without experiencing any negative performance impact while at the same time the migration process was ingesting and indexing millions of documents at high speed (up to four million documents per day at the peak of the migration).

Automation and compliance of your business is the core of our business. From avoiding regulatory fines in financial services, to optimizing your contract lifecycle process, or accelerating the development of new products in R&D, AODocs is here to help IT fulfill its primary mission – to support the business.
