The Google Cloud Next 2018 Event Guide

Google Cloud Next 2018 is upon us. It seems like just yesterday that we were in San Francisco discovering all the newest tools. Shockingly, it’s already the beginning of July and we’re only a few weeks away from the next Google Next. If you’ve found yourself a bit unprepared (wasn’t March just a couple of weeks ago?), don’t worry. It’s going to be fine.

All of the breakout sessions and panels are going to be great. However, choosing which ones to go to can be hard, especially at the last minute. To give you a hand, we’ve gone through the entire Google Next 2018 agenda with a fine-tooth comb to put together a session-by-session guide to all of the top (in our opinion) sessions happening at this year’s conference. So, let’s get to it.

Day 1 - Tuesday, July 24

11 AM - Machine Learning-Enabled Chatbots

Chatbots are a great tool to help you streamline your internal processes and make searching easier and more intuitive. When you combine them with machine learning, which is getting more advanced by the day, chatbots are becoming smarter and more useful than ever. In this session, you’ll learn how to build your very own machine learning-enabled search chatbot on Google Cloud Platform. You can discuss how cool the session was with it afterwards.

12:35 PM - Why Google Docs, Sheets, and Slides? How G Suite Transforms the Way Your Company Works

This breakout session will show you how you can use Google Docs, Sheets, and Slides to transform your company while also providing some tips on how these tools can help your teams work more efficiently. Regardless of whether you’re a G Suite veteran or someone who is considering trying it, you’re bound to learn something new.

1:55 PM - The Value of G Suite, and How the State of Colorado Saved Millions

If you’re looking for a G Suite success story to present to your boss or just want to learn how you can save your organization even more money, this breakout session is calling your name. This session will cover the State of Colorado’s adoption of G Suite, how they ended up saving nearly $25 million because of it, and how you can do the same.

4:35 PM - G Suite: From Like to Love

If you’re as busy as the rest of us, you’ll understand that it can be hard to find the time to really dive into all of the features of your software and devices. G Suite is no exception. This breakout session will let you save yourself a lot of reading by giving you the concrete strategies and important benchmarks and metrics that you need to get everything that you can from G Suite.

6:30 PM Onwards - The After-Parties

Day 1 is in the books. A ton of fun, yes, but it’s been a long one. After a full-day of conferencing, you deserve a drink and some good food. That poses a question though, where should you go? We’ll make your decision a whole lot easier. Come to one of our AODocs after-parties! We’ve got three of them.

Your first option is to join us and our friends from MavenWave, BetterCloud, and LumApps for an evening of jazz and spirits at Local Addition. To learn more about it, click here…

Another idea is to come to the party we’re hosting alongside CloudBakers, BetterCloud, ProsperWorks, Spanning, and LumApps at Novela. Check out all the details here…

Day 2 - Wednesday, July 25

11 AM - Transform Work: Driving Culture Change, Productivity, and Efficiency

This is the perfect session if you aren’t quite convinced that G Suite is right for you. This spotlight session aims to answer all of your questions about G Suite and how it can work for your company. From onboarding to third-party app integrations, you’ll discover if G Suite is a good fit for your organization while also hearing success stories from other companies who have already made the switch.

12:35 PM - Driving Adoption of Google Cloud Technology To Dramatically Impact ROI: A Business Success Story

Getting everyone on board with a new solution can be a challenge for even the most engaged, tech-savvy businesses. This breakout session will dive into a real-world example of how one company used a scientific approach to make sure that it’s employees not only adopted G Suite but also used it to increase their productivity. You’ll learn how to identify the processes that can be improved in your organization and include them in your G Suite implementation plan so that your teams can immediately see the benefits.

3:15 PM - Google Drive: Save time. Stay focused.

Artificial intelligence and machine learning is a hot topic nowadays. While their impacts are going to be huge, it’s not often that we visibly see them in our daily lives just yet. That’s not going to be the case with Google Drive. Google will be unveiling more machine-learning driven features for Drive that will change the way you work. This breakout session will run through a number of these new features so you’ll have a full picture of how they can help make you and your team’s lives easier.

Day 3 - Thursday, July 26

11:40 AM - Google Cloud Search: A Fully Managed Secure Enterprise Search Platform from Google

Most businesses have a ton of data. The problem is that it can be hard find what you’re looking for in that data. In this panel session, you’ll be the first to see Google’s new enterprise search tool. Complete with auto-suggest and natural language comprehension, you will get an exclusive demonstration of its capabilities and APIs. For those looking to stay up to date with Google’s latest tools, this session is a must-attend.

Bootcamps - July 23 & 27

July 23, 1:30 PM - Power your apps with Gmail, Google Drive, Calendar, Sheets, Slides & more

If you’re a developer, there are also some boot camps taking place on Monday and Friday that are worth checking out. Happening on Monday, this boot camp is focused on teaching developers the different ways that they can programmatically access G Suite apps and data. After a quick intro, you will jump into hands-on coding labs. At the end of the day, you’ll come away with the know-how you need to work on G Suite-related projects as soon as you get back to the office.

Now you’re in the know. See? We told you that it would be okay. If you want to come and thank us or just say, “Hi”, we’ll be in Booth W1208 (in the West building on Level One). We’re giving away an electric scooter and a ton of other swag, so it’ll be worth your while. Hopefully, we’ll see you there!

If you can't make it to Next, you can also check out the other events that we'll be attending this year!
